xm tuner digital outs!

i've had my xm tuner for sometime now which i got brand new from the U.S. (i'm in toronto canada btw) i've been using the rca outs which work fine but recently wanted to start using the digital out into my lexicon mc-1 processor optical or coaxle and neither work! wire and input are working since they proven to work on regular dvd. the only thing the manual tells me is take the analog rca's out when using digital which i've done.
i've unplugged the unit to try and reset.
i've checked for red beam on optical wire... its working.
at this point i'm not sure if its worth to send back to polk or just use analog outs.
i read an older post where this guy was getting music with digital and no news cuz of the sample rate or something. do you think this has something to do with canadians using terrestrial sats? i'm not even sure about that just throwing it in there.
thanks..... anyone.

It has nothing to do with your location, I'm near Montreal, I have the Polk XM tuner and use the digital output with no problems. You may need to change a setting in your Lexicon processor so it knows to look for the digital input signal.
