SDA-2Bs (wood topped)

$200 will let you try the SDA experience.
These are wood topped 2Bs I bought last year on CL. I had to replace one 6503 driver which I got from Ben. They are stock with a homemade P/B connection cable. These are the version that can be "TL modded". They are presentable, but have a fair number of cloth snags on the corners and sides. There is a ring stain on the right top which shows in the picture 33. I can e-mail better pics if needed.
I am in the Cincinnati, OH area and this is a no shipping sale. Cash preferred or PP plus fee.

nice 2b's! they look like mine...when is the born-on date?:p

Great price! Like Sal, if they were closer they'd be mine (even if I would get a few lashings from the wife).
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all the 2B models TL capable?____________________

I can't find the picture I have of the crossover, but the frozen driver I pulled is stamped aug/sept 1988 and I recall this being close to the date on the board.
And I believe mmadden28 is correct that all 2Bs can be TL'd, but I was confused with all of the SDA II, 2A, 2B nomenclature when I got them. In fact, the gentleman I got them from sold them to me as 2As. -

And I just got finished doing the tl mod to a set of 2B's that look just like that. Ben upgraded the crossovers with sonicaps. I also did all the mods and tweaks I could, dynamat, retainer rings, mortite, binding posts, and of course RDO-198 tweeters. The crossovers are about 50 hours into the break in period. I was VERY impressed when I first listened to these 2Btl's. From what I see here on the forum, the sound will only get better as the new crossovers get broken in. It's well worth it to do this upgrade.Sunfire Theater Grand IV

I could drive these to Polkfest if anyone is interested and reaches an agreement with Jeff. Of course I would be just the transporter. I would treat them better than UPS but I am not insured
It would cost the buyer $30. This would require I drive the minivan vs the Jetta._________________________________________________

if that doesn't push these into the sold column.....nice polk gesture!

Thanks for the offer Ricardo...give me an excuse to hear the RTAs.
Also, I may make a drive to Indianapolis next week if this works for anyone interested. -
OK... 1 last shot before off to CL ...
I really wanted to mod these, but I need to move a different direction. I bought a great $500 2-channel from Ricardo a year ago so here is my blowout listing for the speakers, or the new owner can add parts for a 2-channel starter ...
I am fine with just selling the speakers by themselves. First one to commit to the speakers at whatever option is the owner...
option 1 - take the speakers listed above as is for $150
option 2 - pay my original $200 asking price and I will include the "larry's driver / passive rings" uninstalled.
option 3 – pay $500 and I will include a NAD 2600 amp and ADCOM 565 preamp I got from HB27. Add your cables, wires, and a source and enjoy the evening SDA style.

I know the components don’t match, but they work nicely together. -
$150 for a pair of SDA's??? Tempting._________________________________________________

Ricardo,
This is even less that I paid for mine and now you would have to pry them from my cold dead hands in order for me to get rid of them.
Big fan of the much more simple, single tweeter SDA models.
ScottI like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D -
Someone buy these. I will even help with delivery.
-I don't have space for them.
-I don't have a common ground amp
-I don't need them._________________________________________________

If I was within a day's drive, this'd be my second pair of 2B's.
