Stands for Monitor 60's?

Are there any stands out there that would be perfect for getting my pair of surround Monitor 60's higher so they clear the couch and be above ear level?
Or will I have to build some kind of platform?

Many speaker stands are unstable around children or are too low to the ground to raise the speakers above chair cushion height. As a result, I use various pieces of furniture -- small endtables or TV stands -- which are at or above chair cushion height and easy to find in a color that matches the wood of the speakers or other room furniture.
My monitor 70s sit atop 4 different furniture pieces of about the same height - one is on a sub, another atop a cherry TV stand with shelves underneath, and the other two atop medium size and small cherry end tables. My monitor 60s are in a smaller room (bedroom) and one sits atop a small sub and the other atop a decorative wooden box with a drawer inside it. It takes some looking around, but in the end I get dual functionality and perfect elevation.Living Room system: 52"HDTV, 4 Mon.70s, Epik Valor, Outlaw RR2150

So it's not really a good idea to be looking for stands for these floorstanders, as it'll make it to fall prone?
I don't have kids, but I have cats and that is probably worse if they try to jump on the top of them. -

Any speaker stands that are tall enough for your purposes would have to have a wider base for stability; otherwise they would be unstable for floorstanding speakers in general.
But I was in a similar situation as you because of acoustic interference with 3 couches, 2 recliners, an electric piano, and an old dining room table in my living room. I bought end tables because they look nice and cheap ones are in the same price range as the heavy duty wider speaker stands, anyways.
If you have a lot of time on your hands, you can build your own stands (I did that in college, but mine were closer to the floor and designed for vintage Polk Model 10s, not nearly high to be above chair cushion height). But for the effort involved, it is easier to investigate the many cheap end tables which are available online if you look hard enough - there are numerous generic discount websites that link to many different vendors, as an example, AllCoffeeTables.com.
One very cheap table is called "Winsome wood accent table, expresso" (about $40 depending on where you buy it) and a slightly fancier one (which I own) is about $120, called "Powell Heirloom Cherry Magazine Cabinet Table". You can see what that one looks like in the system showcase link (click below); it is in the rear speakers photo, the table for the left speaker.Living Room system: 52"HDTV, 4 Mon.70s, Epik Valor, Outlaw RR2150

I have a buddy who used some cheap Target side tables to raise up his rear floor speakers. He cut the legs to the length he needed and they seemed pretty sturdy. Probably a lot cheaper than trying to find stands

Thanks for the idea's guys. I think I would be better off looking at end tables for the width and depth that would be needed.

For cheap I like the Target idea....but you could just make your own and color (STAIN) them as you like. Using real wood will make them more stable and not reverb sound.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

I'm probably going to have to take a trip and see these cheap tables at Target. The closest one to me is about 70-80 miles.
I'd probably be alright with making them, but I don't have a table saw.
I'm thinking the target cheap tables will be a good temp setup until I move and then I'll probably look at wall mounting some 40's. -
Before you drive 80 miles to Target, you can find the same thing at Walmart.

Nice find, Thanks. Hell, $20 for a pair I'm willing to give them a try. -
I built some of my own stands for my monitor 60's and I'm very happy with them. The stands add about 9 inches to the height, which is just what I needed to get the tweeters right at ear height. You could build them to any height, though. It cost about 50 bucks to make them, but I had to buy a circular saw to cut the wood. I will be using that for other projects too, so I'm not counting that in the cost of the stands. There is a small lip going around the flat area where the speakers sit. I thought it looked cool and might help to keep them on there. The base is very sturdy and I'm not worried about them tipping. I spray painted them satin black, so they match the speakers perfectly.
