Being a Titanic historian of sorts and having been on location in Mexico doing communications work for the production company on the Cameron film, I appreciated awesome techincal achievement and accuracy of the 1997 film. The story, whenever it set aside historical fact for the flimsy Jack/Rose sub-plot, I agree it sucked.

Agreed. I haven't seen it in forever, but I believe they did a great job of showcasing the ship. The story line was just so bad I have never gotten around to watching it for a second time.

Looks like your classic B movie with hot women that have LARGE EGO's.
Those EGO's will most likely make their debut appearance during this FLOPPER of a movie

This is a disaster in the making!!

    Good question Cath...

HTF did nobody else catch that one? A prequel perhaps?

Epic FAIL in the making with this one.

I know that we have to suspend disbelief in order to watch some movies, but this is ridiculous.

I think for this I would have to suspend more than disbelief...I would have to try to suspend my whole brain from logic....it just doesn't happen for me.

or maybe, its just that stupid paranah 3D movie with a different title...it did so bad so they just created a title of a movie that did really good and are going to release it again!

They built another ship called it the Titanic II took the same path as the original Titanic, and it sinks again.

I don't see the point of this movie it looks horrible.

    Yeah...kinda like the QEII

Agreed. Looks like a made for TV B movie at best. Surely Cameron is not involved in this one.

I may be one of the few people other than estrogen crazed teenage girls that liked the original Titanic movie. If you could see around the sappy love story angle, it was actually a pretty interesting and fairly accurate insight into the Titanic's voyage...which I enjoyed

I was on the original Titanic when it sank. It happened nothing like the movies have portrayed. Actually what happened was that the kid in cabin 1263 let the toilet overflow. I wish they would tell the real story and quit making such a drama out of the sinking.

And nobody connected the fact that the damn ship sunk because it hit a massive underwater iceberg???? Did they think the icebergs are just going to move out of the way for them? (This goes for the real Titanic as well.)

    Talk about stupid!

Exactly. If Cameron would have just kept it as accurate as possible I might have enjoyed it.

Yeah...but if he had done that...those hoards of estrogen crazed teenage girls would never have gone to see it every single day of their entire 1997 Christmas break, Cameron would have never made a buzzillion dollars and would have never made Avatar. A small price to pay.
