Hey all,
My first post here and would like to start off with my first question.
1.) Where do I find a mod kit for my SDA SRS 3.1tl?
They sound great now
but after reading you guys' preivious posts, perhaps I am missing something?
I also am bi-wiring them with 2 seperate amps. Carver tfm35 for highs 250wpc and Hafler 9500 for lows 250wpc.
2.) would I gain any more by perhaps swapping amps for say... 4 monoblocks with more power@ 500wpc and biwire these four in the afore mentioned amps place respectively? Or just stick with what I got?
Thanks in advance!
Matt

Welcome to Club Polk, Matt. Love the TrashyTrucker handle.
1. There is no mod kit per se. There are mods that you can do yourself or have a tech do for you. Probably the best place to start is with the tweeters. Polk sells a replacement for the SL3000, called the RD0198-1. It sounds mo' better. Then, there are crossover upgrades, binding post upgrades, Dynamat tweaks, Larry's ring tweaks and brass spike upgrades.
I'm sure you mean bi-amp, not bi-wire. It is important when bi-amping that both amps have the same gain level. Do you know if the two you are using have matched gain levels?
2. I think you would be better served by getting two really nice, gain level matched, amps.

Come on Jesse, you're not that mean (except to Bozos).:D

Oh, and to the OP I own some 3.1TL's and if you do the mods that Jesse suggested they will sound unbelieveable.
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Thanks F1nut,
I am not sure if they are matched? I suppose I could reasearch them?
Perhaps I should purchase another one of either. They (amps) like the speakers, are getting older like me?
Perhaps I can find use of your advice on the upgrades.
Thankyou,
