Well Saturday we shampoo'd the carpets, so I moved as much stuff as I could out of the way for the job. I moved the RTiA9's out of the HT area in the basement along with my subs and other things.

Let me just say shampooing the carpets takes time next time I think I will pay someone else to do it.

Ok I have been wanting to pull the A9's out of the HT for sometime and put them in my 2 channel rig but I had them where I wanted and just knew they would never stand up to the SDA's anyway. well today as I was putting things back in order I thought what the hell lets take them upstairs and put them in before I put them back in the HT rig.Keep in mind I am powering the A9's with a Pioneer SC-07 and a Emotiva XPA-3, for my HT the set up works fine. my heart is in my 2 channel..In my 2 channel I am running all Adcom GFP-750, GFA-5802, GCD-750 also looped with the Dodd ELP.. Cables are MIT S3's as most of you know all this.

Well let me say that I have owned the A9's for about 2 years now, and they have 'NEVER" sounded better.. I was in awe of what I was hearing the Bass was just fantastic., yes the highs was a little bright but I wasn't hating it. The clarity was there, lets just say the A9's KICK ****

Now putting them up against the 1.2tl's is a joke I know but what the hell they were there and I was having fun..I will just say this simple as the 1.2tl's rolled over them but the A9's are a fantastic speaker as I now know the Emotiva has to go. Sorry but there just isn't anything there.. The Emotiva is just flat compared to the Adcom 5802..

So now I want to spend some money on my HT rig.. I will be looking for a nice 5 channel amp (Sunfire Maybe) and another GFP-750 for the HT bypass..

Well that is all, as I am very pleased in finding out what the A9's can do. But the 1.2tl's are a god to them.. LOL:cool::cool:

So I guess the 1.2's do hold up. It's nice when you shuffle things around, get outside of your comfort zone. Surprise,surprise....your finding out what the 9's are capable of. Good on ya bro, except the more you move things around, the broker you'll be.

Yep, and I just paid everything off last month. :) the one thing I like is listening to other speakers then going back to the 1.2's and getting that WOW factor all over again.. I did this many times with the monitor 10's and 7's I had at one time..

The one speaker I wish I had kept is the RT55i's I really miss them..

The one speaker I was glad to get rid of and many people love them is the 15tl's I did not like them at all to be honest..

The one speaker I really want to get my ears on are Totems any of them..

Man,there are just too many to get ears on these days. Can drive ya nuts too as each has a profound strength and weekness. Some I recently had an ear on are Salks HT3, Wilson sophia,ML Prodigy's, and Legacy's Focus HD. Dan swears by the Totems though.

I always thought the 15tl's were ok for their time, but some like the 2.3's,3.1's and 1.2's still hold up today providing you bring them up to snuff after all these years. Best have the woman hide your wallet for awhile....you my man, have got the itch.:D

My wife loves the sound and the work I have done to the 1.2tl's but she still wishes they could be smaller. But is glad I have them looking better then new since they are in the living room.

And yes I got the itch.. Still trying to figure out what I want to try next in the pre, amp, and CD/SACD players.

Smaller eh ? Smaller and a sub the size of a fridge ? You should walk in with some Bose and ask her if thats what she means....then let her listen, she'll never bug you about size again. Happy hunting anyway.

Larry, like you said when you dropped by, show her some LSI's in person so she likes the looks. Then bring them in and keep both pair ;)
