Experience Lsi15/LsiC with and without Emotiva XPA5
Just wanted to share my listening experiences with my LSI15 / LSIC hooked up to the Emotiva XPA5
I had my Lsi15/LSIC hooked up to my Onkyo 805 (Manual and others on the forum had say it was "good enough" to drive my 4 Ohms speakers). I lived in an apartment where I was unable to push these speakers really hard so I never demanded much.
I am now in a bigger place where I can push my speakers to its potential. Sadly, I was not impressed. Sound seemed muffled and dull. I wasn't hearing the Highs and lows in movies as you would hear with cheaper polk speakers. I was skeptical whether or not an AMP would make a "HUGE" difference in my listening experience...
Well.. I added the XPA5 over the weekend and it made a "HUGE" difference...
Now I am no audiophile, but after hooking up the AMP... I was able to pick up mid and highs in movies I was unable to prior to the AMP addition...
Everything is not only louder but more clear (especially for the center channel).
For those on the side line, add that amp to your system

I just did a similar thread asking for poeples experience with amped monitor speakers and everyone said it was totally worth it. In you case, I'm sure it's even more of a difference because the lsi speakers are harder to push. Glad to hear you're happy with the results, I'm saving my pennies for an emotiva amp and hopefully will be buying one SOON!

And I am not trying to justify my purchase. It's an expensive my equipment and I would gladly return it had it done jack... but it did so much for my system.Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR805

But...all amps sound the same.....someone posted a link from av 'experts' that said so, so it must be true!
Glad there are folks that don't believe such rubbish and try stuff to let their own ears decide!
Enjoy the sonic goodness.

Hearing is believing & KNOWING! Now that you know, you will most likely never go back to just a receiver ever again.
