I have received some great advice from hear as I bring together my HT. Have come across some good buys would like opinions...note I will be adding another amp for my LSI-25s in the near future. See attached for the Theta

the Sunfire would cost me $600.00 more

Thanks guys

The extra power you get, that the LSI's need is WELL worth that extra $600.00. Get the Sunfire.

+1 on what cfrizz said. I would go for the Sunfire. Which one are you looking at? You can pick up a used Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature 400X5 for less than $2200. I've never owned the LSI-25's but from what I read on here, they need to be fed a good amount of power to really sing. Even the Sunfire Cinema Grand 200X5 will deliver a lot more power than the Intrepid, and they can be found in the $800 range.

I noticed from a past thread that you bought the Sunfire TGA -7201 Amplifier. How is it working out for you? I have been looking at this amp and thinking about buying it. It would be nice to hear someones personal review. I have an Onkyo receiver I want to hook it up to.

Just thought I would revive this instead of starting a new theta thread on the intrepid

Would a sunfire amp really sound better than a theta after all the theta's msrp is $4350 but is around $1500 right now

For me, I would think the Theta would compliment your new toy better than the Sunfire....thats just me though. I would look at the more musical amps to pair up with that Anthem. Pass labs, Belles, Butler, Bat, McCormick.... don't look to put fiberglass tires on a Corvette.

PFB, why revive a 6 month old thread? OP has obviously made his mind up a long time ago and made his purchase....

No I read your post... but considering there wasnt much substance to this thread besides 2 posts and a purchase, and they were quite aged at that, you might be better off starting your own thread.
