Component speakers for Car

Not looking for anything overpriced/fancy but something that's better than stock.

I've got an extra 2-channel amp that I'll be using to power them with, rated at 60wpc@4ohmsx2 RMS.

Opening is 6 3/4" but I believe most 6 1/2" mounting plate will fit in 6 3/4" openings anyway.

    Yeah, just something inexpensive for the time being.

    Other funds will go for under-the-hood stuff later on ;)

    man i have all of my stock Kicker speakers somewhere from when i took them out. if i can find them, you can have them. just cover shipping. ill look for them tomorrow.

    Oh sweet, should work out better than the stock speakers!

    They just sound horrible, not to mention the 3 1/2" dash speaker. It's pointed up torwards the windshield so it bounces off that and it just comes off really 'bright' IMO. Even have the highs turned down -1 on the HU.

    the stock speakers suck. my SRT had the Kicker System upgrade. comes with an amp and sub too. 3x better than the stock ones

    Didn't Mitsubishi do the same with some of their cars such as the Raider truck?

    I'm only using an MTX Thunder 5510 with JL Audio 360.2 amp, very tight/accurate so it does well for music and isn't overpowering at all.

    Just want something better up front, I'll be eliminating the rear speakers completely :)

    Freddy, i may have a pair of 6.5 JBL coax components. (Tweet mounted like a coax, but has a simple in-line crossover.)

    Let me drag them out of the Celica and make sure they still work and get you a model number. If they're good, how's about $50 + shipping? They sounded friggin' GREAT last time i heard them, which was like... 10 months ago now. :(
