Hello and welcome to Club Polk. That seems to be a pretty impressive receiver, but for the RTi9's you would probably want to have a separate amplifier. The receiver will drive them ok, but the more power the better they will sound.
You could always buy a speaker lower in the line up like the RTiA5, and use a good subwoofer for the lows. There are endless options._________________________________________________

Welcome to CP!
It's not that you need separate amplification, but your speakers will benefit greatly from it!
You could get by with just using a receiver (if you don't listen to your music/movies at high-volumes) but it's always recommended you use a separate amplifierTruck setup

Welcome to the club. To simplify this, seperate amp = better sound from the A9s, more detailed and dynamic. A receiver can drive them no problem but to really get the most of them we recommend seperate amp. Not sure where you are located but something Outlaw M2200 would be great.
You could use 1 monoblock per A9 and power the rest of your system with the Yamaha no problem.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Square rooms are not recommended for sound. This is because of the way the sound will behave in the room. A rectangle is much better for sound. If you do use that room, you will need to treat it heavily to get the best sound.
The RTi series is very good, he did not lie.Turntable: Empire 208
Arm: Rega 300
Cart: Shelter 501 III
Phono Pre: dsachs consulting
Digital: Marantz SACD 30n
Pre: Conrad Johnson ET3 SE
Amp: Conrad Johnson Premier 350
Cables: Cardas Neutral Reference
Speakers: SDA 2.3TL, heavily modified -
I'd say go with it, and enjoy the A9s. Live and hear the dream and relax while doing so.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!
