Ok, got an IPhone 4 about two weeks ago. cool. it's ok, has it's quirks that I hate, but whateva.
i purchased a few songs from iTunes directly to the phone.. and I want to sync it to my laptop and backup the songs from the phone to the laptop. i can't figure out how to do it that way. i can easily sync and transfer it to go from the laptop to the phone, but not the other way around.

If that option is even available, Apple makes sure that it's not readily apparent. Just a guess, but you might actually need third-party software to do that. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Go into Itunes on the laptop and download the same songs under your account at no extra charge. Itunes will just ask if you want to download again, just OK it. If you want to back up songs off your phone then I suggest you use TransCopy. If you look around you can find it free.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

its actually very easy to transfer purchases made on your iphone. Just click on file and then transfer purchases from ipod. Transferring stuff you have on your ipod from another source is what is impossible without 3rd party software.
