I need some help I have Tsi100's and the cs10 up front and omw3's in the back and sooner or later will upgrade the fronts to tsi 300 or 400's but right now I was about to pull the trigger on a psw110 and the sales guy on the phone said what about the DSWpro 400. the room is 20(L) by 12(w) and there is a large opening 6' to the kitchen and and a large opening 6' to the rest of the house on one 20' wall and the other wall is the side of the house the ceiling is 18'. Please don't recommend all sorts of other brands the options are psw 110/111/125 or the dswpro 400. Also why is the frequency range much smaller on the dsw compared to the psw range and does it mean anything. This is an upgrade for an old sony sub so anything will sound better...
Thanks for the help.

the dswpro should give you tighter/cleaner bass, i.e. better sound quality. The larger psw125 will give you more output, but the bass will sound loose at times and if you really crank it up you might hear signs of distress like port chuffing, distortion, etc. if you keep the volume moderate then you will probably be fine with either, but since I generally prefer sound quality over output I would suggest the dsw400.

The DSW Pro is within a couple dB of overall output of the PSW125. It's also built better. The PSW125 would never be my suggestion but both are an upgrade from the Sony you're used to. The only thing the PSW MIGHT do is fill the room a little better at high output and cover that lower octave a bit easier but it's also a sloppy performer at the limits.
Good luck.....get the DSW Pro. The 500 is even better and could be the last subwoofer you buy, so keep that in mind.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
+10 on what Doro says.
I have the 400 & my brother has the 500. My 400 is good & does all that I need it to, but my brothers 500 rattles his glass cabinets!
Get one of those 2 & you will be a happy camper. Welcome to Club Polk Mo!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
Thank you all for the quick replies I think i will go for the dsw then. Im in israel and here they are like 2.5 times the price or so but I have a credit at the importer of polk here for $500 and he was willing to give me the psw110 for that price (the retail here in Israel is actually $700) and he offered me the dsw 400 for an extra $200 and its either take the psw110 or the psw111 or go for the dsw 400. The rest of my speakers I had people bring in from the states. What an improvment over my old sony htib.
Thanks again to all -
