after i saw these on sale for $139 on newegg.ca i couldnt wait and pull the trigger, so they arrive last and i finally got some fine speaker to enjoy again.
i loved my klipsch rsx-3 until bought the RTI6 last year.

These monitor 40s, although havent' break in yet, i already love their sound
: a bit mellower than the RTI6s, less bright, less details and less air in highs but still sweet sounding. the lower mids are great, which the RTI6s i thought always lacking.

my computer room is extremely small, 1.5m x 2m, the mid bass balances all around and muddy, ill get some cheap room treatment later. the vocals are amazing. overall i like them better than the RTI6 for music, easier on ears.

here are some pics, i think not everyone has seen the monitor series II yet. The finish is vinyl, not nearly as good as the veneer from RTI line, but cannot tell the difference from far away. The black panel looks REEEALLY nice, know i really enjoy the new look on my computer.:D

I'm in the U.S., but got in on the same deal here, receiving my Monitor 40's from Newegg yesterday. The sound is awesome -- I was worried about both the size (there's an oft-heard comment, "these are bigger than you think!") and the lack of bass (oft-heard, "there isn't enough!"), and I'm happy to report that while, yes, they're big, they're not really any bigger than what I expected, and while, yes, there's not as much bass as a dedicated sub-woofer provides, they really can be used as decent full-range speakers as there's a reasonable amount of bass still present.

Anyway, I did get the cherry finish, so here's a few pictures for you...

    They look nice...

(B-sama....I also plan to run a couple Monitor 5s (peerless) as my desktop speaks with a NAD integrated)

The Newegg Monitor series seem to be using TSI drivers and black-faced front panels replacing the silver facing (which is now dated). M40s are pretty close to a bookshelf version of the M50s.....which have been one of Polk's best entry level tower series for Big Box stores for years--and they do a very nice job for their price.

    Enjoy.
