Install a db1212 in the trunk running off a polk pa 1200.1. It sounds muffled, plenty of volume, but sounds like comming frm the guy behind me. Any idea how to get it back up front.

    To pull the sub forward:

    1. Lower your sub/mid xover point to the 50-63hz range. But both sub and mid driver on the steepest slope that your hu allows.

    2. Are you using the time alignment on your hu? You need to get the sub and the mids in phase to pull the bass forward. If you are using the TA, current settings plus actual distances from your seating position to the speakers would help.

    3. Try moving your sub all the way into the boot (towards the rear seat) but keep the sub facing rearward towards the boot lid. Not sure if thats how you have it.

moved sub, helped out some. No time alignment on hu. Only setting for sub is 80, 100, 120, 200. Unless I use cossovers on the amps. Should I try to put sub 180 out of phase?

Never liked setting the xover at the amp cause its an approximation at best. But if your hu doesn't give you a lower xover than 80hz, then yeah set it at the amp.

Also try reversing the polarity on the sub. Your hu has TA I think, but you need the imprint module to activate it. You may want to look at spending that $100 on the pxa-100. It will open up a lot of tuning options for you.

Are you sure you hooked the pre-outs to the Sub outs on the back of the HU?

If the sub is getting a full signal it may sound garbled and Distant.

Get the imprint module. You need the time alignment to get the speakers in phase.
