....great for Tube guys!!! Anybody ever heard these>? Some people like them better than Klipschorn...especially in a smaller room. They are only a 2 way.

My brother would be drooling due to the good deal. He's a huge Altec fan and I think he has already owned a pair of 19s. Not my cup of tea though. DC would probably be a bit too far for him, although he did recently drive about 600 miles round trip to get a set of Altec 604H (which he prefers due to the smaller footprint).
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

...From the picture and googling....They must be Altec. Typo ...i guess. Look exactly like the Altec's......unless there was a copy cat.

    Ciao GDB!!

Don't have the room.....I settled on Maggies. But the price is right for the younger crowd. What set of NEW speakers can you buy for $300.00. In DC ...that is about the price for 30 drinks at a bar with tip...of course.

    ...or a pair of ParidigmAtom's"

...back when I was in college , here, in DC. I was a member of what we called... " The Fine Arts Council"...we provided entertainment and CULTURE to the University. We had concerts with "the Byrds" - "Mountain" - "Sha Nah Na" and many others. For on campus parties we used "Voice of the Theartre" speakers. We often brought them home to play with at private parties. Of course we made enemies with our neighbors. But what was college all about in the "60's". Alien-nation!!!

Little known fact, but the Aztec was the earliest documented 3rd-world-country produced speakers ripping off popular brands.

Here we see a shifty-looking man attempting to convince some poor sap that the retail value of the Aztecs he has in the back were left over from an install job, and his boss won't want them back in the warehouse, so he's willing to let them go for well under their usual price.

"Honest, these babies cost $350! Would I lie to you? Look at the price tag conveniently stuck to the side of the box!"

Only if you gave him 80 of your hard-earned dollars, you'd take these home to find that the cabinets were made out of wood thinner than the sweet new paneling your folks just put in the den and that there wasn't even a driver behind that horn waveguide.

Yep, just another pair of white van speakers on Craigslist!

The rectangular port on the side of the driver appears to be missing on the CL speakers...

The shiny pleated compliance on the woofer is the "giveaway" that those are the real thing. Knock-offs would have foam surrounds.

Nah, I passed. I just wanted to see them. I've owned and parted out enough Altec's over the years.
