Honey Do Job With A Sonic Bonus

My wife has been bugging me for a couple of weeks to put up some curtains in my listening room. The wall opposite my SDAs is a big sliding glass door, that's where she wanted the curtains. Yesterday afternoon I decided I'd get it done to get her off my butt. While I was working on getting the curtains hung, I started thinking, heavy sound absorbing curtains instead of big reflective glass panes opposite my SDAs, this could be good.
Man was I right, as soon as I got the curtains up I fired up the SDAs, wow what a difference. Details and micro harmonics I had never heard before. A tautness and coherence of sound that is simply amazing, and extra width and depth to the soundstage thrown in as a bonus.
I've always paid a lot of attention to speaker placement with my SDAs, but never paid much attention to the wall they are playing into. I'll tell you without hesitation, it can make a huge difference in sound quality. The next time you're sitting there listening to your favorite speakers, turn your head 180 degrees, look at the wall your speakers are playing into, curtains might look real nice there.

When the honey-do list piles up, my wife tells me I have a "dead end" too.
+1 on that,
I have a large heavy curtain hung on the opposite wall of my SDA's and smaller ones on the side walls about two thirds away to help alleviate some reflection issues I had in my two channel room. Night and day difference.
