Hey guys - just wanted to give you an update. Got the PSW-505 yesterday and fiddled around w/ the placement for a while before settling on the position in the picture.

Initially, I had it to the left of the left speaker and it I could barely hear it (gain at 1 o'clock, channel level @ 0 on the AVR). So today, repositioned the front speakers (pain in the **** doing angles btw) and put the sub up front.

The Denon avr lets me set specific settings for 2 channel mode (speaker size, sub, crossover, distances) independent of any Audyssey settings so I've been playing music w/ the A7s at full range and the sub @ 60hz (may put it down to 40 later..).

So far, it's a big improvement over the PSW-110 just because I can FEEL the bass even though it's not obnoxiously loud :D And that is what I was going for - so thanks for the advice. Haven't had a chance to pop in a blu-ray yet, but will do so later today.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. I listen to about 50/50 music and movies, and i think it really shines during movies. I have it in a huge room and it still sounds great.

So after tweaking it and setting the crossover to 40Hz for 2 channel mode, I'm getting just the right amount of supplemental thump for music - loving it so far.

For movies, I decided to go with the standard 80Hz - and you're right, it's great! I was watching the BBC 'Life' blu-ray and actually got spooked when the lions and hyenas were facing off lol :)

The PSW-110, Yamaha RX-V663, and a set of Klipsch sats went into my sister's room to augment her 40" lcd. So she should be happy when she gets home from work. I've kinda taken over the living room so she can make some noise too now.
