Sunfire Processor or a pre/pro for HT/Music

Looking for a Sunfire Theater Grand Processor. I would guess the II since they seem to fit my budget (about $400).

Unless you've got a different suggestion, it's what I'm looking for. The Decco should be sold Friday so I'd like to be able to pull the trigger on one that day if not after. Going a different way with my system, which will be a dual purpose HT/2 channel setup and I've heard Sunfire Processors are pretty musical unless someone has a better suggestion, then I'm all ears!

I heard about you picking that up when you first joined or am I wrong? You got it pretty cheap too if I recall

Edit: I want a dual purpose pre/pro though, meaning it'll need analog 5.1 ch inputs and the such for home theater use, yet remain musical enough for 2 channel.

I suggest that you check in with TNRabbit about the various models of SF pre/pro units before you jump. He owns one & knows a lot about them.;)

The Sunfire TG II pre/pro is a very good choice. You have the capability of running either balanced or unbalanced 5 channel output to your amp. It has 2 or 3 subwoofer outs. No HDMI, but has component video as well as several inputs for audio. +1 on contacting TNRabbit. He is a wealth of knowledge on this Sunfire equipment.

+1 on the TG II. It has 2 channel direct mode. Also has phono input if you wanna play some vinyl. 3 subwoofer outputs. Optical inputs. Dead quiet noise floor!!! Very nice brushed aluminum case. I just sold mine to another polkie a few weeks ago as I've gone to tube based equipment.

So I was right in thinking I should get the TGII :)

Did a little research before posting this thread, but I figured I'd ask to make sure and hear from someone with experience. I'll ask TNRabbit later about it since I'm on my way out. Thanks everyone!
