Question about retainer rings SDA 2B MW

I am in the process of replacing the tweeters, and installing Larry's rings on my 2B's. Take a look at the attached photo. I think this speaker must have been made late on Friday afternoon! As you can see the center brace is way over to the right, and actually overlaps the hole by a mm or 2. What is the best way to make the ring fit? Cut off the ring to match the opening, or cut down the wood to allow the ring to fit?

    Thanks guys. So much needs to be removed that the ring will be cut off completely on one side. I'll put it in a vise, and use a hacksaw. Wish I had Larry's laser!:D

    Had the same problem with the other speaker yesterday. The center board was over to the right about the same as on the first one, I was thinking, perhaps this was designed into the speaker for some reason. However, I doubt it since the boards were both over to the right, in both speakers, which would not make sense. The volume of the stereo driver compartment vs the SDA compartment would be different, so I doubt it was designed into the speakers. Like I said before, I have a feeling these speakers were built on a Friday afternoon!
