Speaker reverb

Well I finally got a chance to twist the the volume knob a little bit and it was horrible :(

I'm pretty sure my pretend hardwood floors are causing the problem.Can you guys guide me in the direction of a cheap fix so I can make sure this is the problem before I go and throw $$$ at spikes,pads,etc.

    Throw down a thick blanket on the floor at the first reflection point.
