i have an harmon kardon av 225 that i got from my dad. i really like this receiver a bit more than my old onkyo503. my question is how does your old receiver compare to your new receiver.

Depends on what your comparing. I've had some old Marantz receivers that for sound quality, would kick arse on 90% of the newer box store receivers.
    HT SYSTEM-
    Sony 850c 4k
    Pioneer elite vhx 21
    Sony 4k BRP
    SVS SB-2000
    Polk Sig. 20's
    Polk FX500 surrounds

    Cables-
    Acoustic zen Satori speaker cables
    Acoustic zen Matrix 2 IC's
    Wireworld eclipse 7 ic's
    Audio metallurgy ga-o digital cable

    Kitchen

    Sonos zp90
    Grant Fidelity tube dac
    B&k 1420
    lsi 9's

I guess to me there are several things to compare. I could give a laundry list of comps but I'm not sure why you would want that as you do not have the same AVR's that I do.

to sum up mine. My old AVR sucked, and my new AVR rocks.

I have a 7 year old Onyko 989.2 that still sounds amazing.it does not have the hdmi's obviously but it pushed my old SRS's pretty good.t has been demoted to a bedroom setup which is sad.
