anyone local have something cheap and local I can buy for my 15 year old?
He is using my Monitor 7s and I can't take it anymore, before he pops a driver I need to get something I can let him destroy.

They don't pump out the deep lows, of course, but are a very nice and well constructed speakers for under $100. I have a pair and enjoy them for music. I'd even recommend then for HT use if Monitor's weren't so cheap nowadays.

How about a pair of monitor 30? Not really high powered and lacking some bass but still Polk quality. Actually not being too powerfull and not too bassy might play in your favor (not so much of an annoyance when he tries to crank them too loud)? Can't you do a little tweek to his receiver so can't crank it up too loud?

I have a pair of Infinity Reference 2000.1 that I could part with. Previously used as surrounds, but are just sitting unused at the moment. $75 shipped.
