Just got their brochure in the mail. Does anyone have any feedback on their Clearview Excalibur Analog Ribbon Interconnects? Are they better than the Hero HB from Kimber?

I have not tried their cables, but their new "premium" tinfoil connectors look scary. They say that they sounds like pure heaven despite the looks, but I'm sorry, when I see unfinished aluminum RCA connector with uneven surface attached to a thin wire wrapped in a loose plastic bag used as a housing - I stay away.
This minimalist approach is used in high end cable as a way of saying - look all money went into the material and stuff that matters. Cardas does it with the plain plastic cable jacks and plastic bag for container instead of a fancy box and velvet bag. But at least everything else from connector to conductor in Cardas makes sense to me, so I buy them. Mappleshade cables just look scary to me. And their power cables with the same thin conductor in plastic wrap look like it's asking for trouble.
But again, I have not heard these cables, so I'm not passing judgment about their quality and ability. Just expressing my observation based on information in Mappleshade catalog. -
I've tried several different lines from MS from IC's to speaker. I thought they worked extremely well with my rig. Don't let the look fool you. A lot of people are impressed with firehose sized cables laying about. Just because they are fragile looking should not exclude them from an audition. I mean, you're not going to be hoisting bundles of shingles to the second floor with them:D They hang behind your rack, pretty much out of the way of all danger. Listening to them is the only way to decide.

The point of the plastic bag seems to be that they're using air as the insulator. Air is, after all, the best insulator there is. How the cables actually sound, I don't know. I don't have that kind of money. Signal cable is about as high-end as I can afford.Turntable: Empire 208

Pierre's stuff might look weird but the proof is in the pudding as they say. Great stuff...you have to give them a try. You'll be glad you did. You won't find garden hose cables or black boxes on Pierre's site for sure."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

I had one of the power-cords installed in my pre. When it arrived, my wife asked me if I bought an antique wire, and if I did, where was the fabric on the wire?
I eventually gave it and a pair of the speaker wires up as a karma here as I tried other pieces. Sometimes I still wish I had them laying around for a new (old) flavor now and then.
I do think some of the copy from MS may be stretching some boundries. I have a hard time qualifying anything in audio with a % increase.

You guys are great! Thanks for all the feedback.

I would just be afraid of like pulling by accident on one when switching gear and busting the wire I guess. Accidents happen so eek!

I would be just embarrassed to tell my g/f how much I just spent on these cables. Then again, I already feel that way about any new cable I buy.
Yey, this is my 100th post!!! If I keep going I would break my average of 10 posts a year. Maybe I should slow down, no? -
Anybody know what the material is? If it's something you can source easily, it could be a fun DIY project.
