Hello all, I'm a newbie when it comes to SDA/Polk, I was running a pair of Yamaha towers, and now have been introduced to the sound of Polk, which is has blown me away. I picked this pair up at an auction, and got them very cheep as I was the only bidder. They seem to be in perfect shape except for the negitive terminal on the right speaker, which I'm looking for a replacement but can't find the exact same one, I havent been able to find photos of this exact model. Any information on these would be great! Thanks!

Thank you much. I still don't understand which exact models they are. I havent been able to find a photo that matches these exactly. The main differences I see are silver around the tweeters and the fuses on the rear of the speaker. Any information would be great, thanks!

Those are early SDA CRS with SL1000 tweeters. The binding posts are not high quality, you'd do well to replace all of them. I would also suggest you clean the fuse ends and fuse holders with a product like De-Oxit.

Some find that dimensional tweeter less than desirable.

Either way enjoy them, sounds like you got a deal on them.

Are those the original stands ????

    Welcome to Club Polk.

Ok, thank you everyone! So I start from here... Where do I get new posts that are of good quality? Where can I find information on the SL1000 tweeters/where can I find upgrades? I'm pushing these with an Oknyo TX-SR607, which I know most of you will laugh at! They still sound like nothing I've ever heard, which is why I'm doing research on amps. They sound great with my current receiver, especially for $20.00! Just point me to where I need to go, thanks again, I'm sure I'll have more questions!
(Oh yeah, as far as I know those are original stands, why is that important?)

I think you overpaid on those :p
Correct me if i am wrong, but the stands are rarer than the speakers because they usually disappear and are never available by them selves as the speakers usually are.
    Welcome aboard!

Wow, such positive responses from everyone, thanks. Now that I have most of my questions that I've had so far answered, what is my next step with these? The Onkyo is pushing 90w per channel, or so it says, and seems to do these some justice. Should I upgrade the tweeters with some SL2000's? Any internals I should consider over the next few months? I'm trying to locate some quality posts to replace all of them, any sugestions? You guys have been great, keep it coming!

I've been scouring the forums for hours the last few days. Still have a few questions, one being how do these sound so darn good?!? I think my first step is upgrading my binding posts, as one is broken. I'm going to do all of them, will soldiering be required? I'm looking at these, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=091-1245 - They are pretty cheep and seem like decent quality. How hard is it going to be to install, I don't want to open these babys up unless I know I can do it, I'm fairly handy. I guess the follow up question to that is my Onkyo supports bi-amping, would I ruin the SDA effect by doing this?
Would it be worth it to mod them for bi-amping or would I ruin some appeal of the speaker?
Do you guys think that it will make much of a difference sound quality wise?
Any help is great as I've been searching and can't find much on these subjects so far...
