Pangea AC14SE C7 Question

I have been happy with the AC9's I used on my amps and power controller so I ordered up some regular AC14SE's plus an AC14SE C7 for use on my Blu Ray player.
The C7 is an unpolarized female connection on the component side though it goes have a three plug on the other end. Both my Blu Ray player and my older Laser Disc, in fact all the various players I have collected over the years, have polarized C7 connections with one side flat and usually a two prong plug on the other end with one side larger than the other to indicate polarity.
Does anyone know if using the unpolarized cord will be an issue or how I might figure out which is the correct orientation to result in a polarized connection?
Also, the plug that goes into the unit is around a 1/4 in longer than all the others I have. It does make a power connection but this results in it being a looser connection, as others have mentioned, than the OEM plugs. Wondering if I can just trim off a 1/4 in from the plug to make a tighter fit with the full end inside the component.
Thanks

Used a battery and a volt meter to figure out which side was which and matched the orientation of the OEM polarized cord. Probably didn't matter one bit but made me happier.

So the unpolarized male C7 worked fine with the polarized female C7? I have a set of powered speakers with a polarized C7 and have been trying to figure out how to power them...HT: Ninja Master LSi9s, Ninja Master LSiC, Slightly Modded LSiFXs, Modded LSi7s, Outlaw LFM-1 EX and Polk PSW125
Outlaw 970 Preamp, Outlaw 7700 Amp, Velodyne SMS-1, Oppo BDP-83,
2 APC H-15s and a Panamax 5400 for good measure
Stereo: DIY Alix Music Server, DODD Audio Battery Tube Buffer, Modded DAC-60 and MF V-Link (for now), DIY Silver ICs, Battery Powered Class D SDS-254 Amp, and GR-Research N2X Speakers -
I had the reverse situation. The male ends are on the Blu Ray play and the female cable was not marked with polarization. Sorry about the confusion.
Once I determined the sides on the female side that matches the usual three pronged output plug I could orient the cable properly. Hope this helps.
