Mitsubishi (Motors) guys out there?

For some reason that actually eludes me, I'm driving my third Mitsubishi since 1999... 2 Galants and now an Eclipse. What are the most effective "tweaks" to eek out more power out of this V6? Not that it's lacking, but you know, the more the merrier. I'm not looking to go hog wild - it's my daily driver - but it's been fun to drive... perhaps it could be a little more fun?
I've been thinking that an aftermarket intake might be the way to go.

do you have to worry about smog or anything like that?
an aftermarket intake wont give you that much oif a gain, but i guess its a start. AEM makes a nice one for your car and it comes with a K&N air filter. if it rains alot in your area i would stay away from the cold air one (is has sucked up water on other car before) and get a short ram intake.
here is a link so you can see them. hope this helps.

here is 2 nice exhaust kits for the eclipse (not sure on the year)

Yes, it will have to pass MD emmissions inspections. It's an '09 GT model, 6-speed.

well i know the AEM intake is 50 state legal. just keep your old parts if your worried about the inspection.
if you wanted some power, you should have picked up the EVO. they come packed with some BALLS in stock form.

Yeah, but I like the styling of the Eclipse better. It reminds me of one of my favorite cars from years ago - a '93 Probe. I've never been into the 4-door Evos.

the GT turbo probe was nice.
did the link that i posted help out in any way?mole' -
Just make sure you change your oil religiously in the Eclipse. I did not and through a piston right through the engine block. Had to push the car to a Dennys Restaurant while it was on FIRE!!! I have become much smarter now that I have my vintage Caddy.

I run full synthetic (checked often) and 93 octane in mine. It has the same engine I had in my previous Galant - 6G75. Seems to be a pretty good engine to me. The only down side to them is that they say premium fuel is not just recommended, but required. -

Mine was a post-turbo V6. I've never owned a turbo... Hmmm.
Yes, I have checked the links. The intake is probably what I'd do first, considering the exhaust is already dual, so I imagine that expense would be quite high, and it's not like I'm racing it. -

F/I is soooooo nice!
remember if it rains in your area alot i would go with the short ram over the cold air intake.
make sure to keep your stock parts (warranty and inspection)mole' -
Mine was a 1997 GS automatic.

An intake likely won't make much difference in power on a stock engine, but it will give the car a much throatier sound when under throttle. As such, you will likely get lower gas mileage, as you won't be able to keep your foot out of itLudicrous gibs!

I've not done many tweeks other then dropping in a K&N air filter in the stock air box and I completely debaged the car. No emblems on the back anywhere. The front bumper emblem is painted to match.If...

People still use it. I'm pretty skeptical that it would do anything worthwhile on the car in question though, for various reasons.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Nice, I'm driving an '08 GT 6-speed and love it, and I love the styling and how it feels when sitting behind the wheel.

Ok, no performance boost yet, but you did inspire me to remove perhaps the tackiest lettering from any car I've ever owned. No longer does it have E C L I P S E on the rear, nor GT V6. That drove me crazy, but I just never got around to peeling it off. I like it with nothing but the three-diamond logo.
One question - if you get close enough, you can notice a very slight difference in coloration where I removed the letters, due to fading (I've had the car for 9 months). Any ideas? Or should I just ignore it (nobody else would probably even notice it)?
