Big hobby day....
Woke up and did the first crossover upgrade for my Monitor 10's. I decided to wait on the second so a friend and I can do some comparison with mono recordings. (I have three monitor 10's so I'm gonna hook them up to a Niles speaker selector and see if he can tell teh difference )
At this point I was reminded that it was time to go to the dump so I dutifully filled the truck and took off. At our dump there is an electronics recycling "trailer" that I usually stop at to scavenge and today was looking up when I found an Adcom GTP 500 and a GFA 535. CLean too !!!!:cool::eek:
Got them home and did a quick hookup with some Boston A40's. (great little bookshelf speakers) Right channel was out so I cracked the amp open and found that some fool had neglected to replace one of the 4 A fuses on that side. Dug one out of the junk drawer and hooked it all back up.
30 seconds later a humming noise out of the right speaker and then.....SMOKE!!! Seems there was a reason that amp got dumped:o
Ah well... all in all a fun day at the work bench.
anyone got a driver for a boston acoustics a 40???
