Any hi-end audio shops that you guys can recommend out here in the Killeen or Fort Hood area?

Hopefully nowhere too far, but I've got a whole morning/afternoon tomorrow and would like to check something out.

Good luck finding anything in that town, aside from the general public. It seems that every time I venture down that way, I get a huge boost in morale laughing at the idiocy down there. Its a beautiful area, but man, I feel for you...;)

I really have never been in a "city" that was so country in my life. I assume you are there for Army purposes?

Hehe I checked out the local craigslist and yeah, I know what you mean.

My dads retired Army and this is where he lives. As for me, former Marine. Check that, once a Marine ALWAYS a Marine :D

Was just hoping to kill some time tomorrow since I'll be alone for a bit at his house. Maybe I'll take a look at his old equipment he's got in the attic. He's got some oooold Fisher gear as well as an Adcom pre and a few other things. I hate that he's got Cerwin Vegas for speakers though cause if he used his other gear and had other speakers he'd have a rocking system!

hah.. well the only thing close enough is probably going to be here in Austin... we have a few stores.. A&BTV and audiosystems and whetstone audio to name a few, but not sure you have time to make it down to the Austin area.

I live in Austin, but spent my high school years in Killeen. Austin is your best bet for audio shops.

You will find lots of pawn shops in Killeen though. Might be worth looking into.

There is also Modia (Home Theater Store) in Austin as well. They pretty much just sell B&W, Rotel & McIntosh

Forgot to say there are quite a few Magnolia Best Buys in Austin. I've been pretty surprised at some of the things I've seen in there.

You'll have to go to Austin or Dallas to see a real hi end store. I was there 97-00 and the only thing close to decent audio was the PX or circuit city.

Another poster talked about the pawn shops and they might have something decent.
