I have the GFR-700 running my complete LSi HT system. It does a fantastic job for HT and music. Would there be any real world advantages on adding on another amplifier? I was thinking of adding on a GFA-555 directly to my fronts (LSi15)

OK... one more try.
My receiver is rated @ 245wpc (4ohm). Now I don't know if that rating is for powering 2 channels or all 5. I was thinking of adding an external amp (GFA-555) to supplement my towers (LSi15). I'm not looking to buy the amp to play at louder volumes because the AVR sounds awesome as is. Any advantages to adding an external amp? -
Where are you located in Long Island?

I'm still looking for a new amplifier to run my LSi15s. Would a Adcom 5500 be a better choice over a 555? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Having a seperate amp powering your speakers will almost always sound better than a receiver. Give those LSI's as much power as you can and they will reward you accordingly.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Thanks,
Nope, the GFR is a fantastic Home Theater piece. I wouldn't waste the money on adding a GFA 555. You have all the power you need with the GFR700. It's not your typical AVR in that it's power ratings are not inflated.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it.
