HMC-Hidalgo-1-thumb-550x288.jpg

It's from a company called the Helvetic Motor Company and the car is called the Hildago.
From Autoblog:

Now here's a pleasant surprise. The designers at Helvetic Motor Company have officially pulled back the sheets on their Hidalgo, and we have to say that while we were expecting the worst, this Swiss Miss is actually pretty sharp. When a builder announces their intention to reskin a perfectly amiable vehicle like the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG, that typically means bad-news bears. But the Hidalgo seemingly manages to blend heaping helpings of Bugatti Atlantic-era styling with the benefit of the Silver Arrow's considerable running gear. Power from the 5.5-liter V8 has been kept to the stock 355 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, enough to make this an interesting alternative to today's contemporary BMW-powered Morgans.

If you're thinking the car looks like something you'd like to get your hands on, you should probably be on the phone with HMC right now. The company is apparently only planning on building six examples per year at most, each one with a price tag of $410,000 at today's current conversion rates. Hey, we never said nostalgia was cheap.

Pretty spiffy looking ride!

It is a rip off of the Chrysler Atlantic Concept of almost twenty years ago. The Chrysler was itself a ripoff of the Bugatti Atlantique coupes of the 1930's...

I agree with Demi... horrible design.

The Bugatti is the best of the bunch IMHO:cool:...

    Nice trolling!

    News flash, nobody cares.

Do you feel good about yourself now?

Part of the reason I like it so much is because it resembles the Atlantic which I thought was absolutely gorgeous and Chrysler should have built it instead of the PT Cruiser. I thought it was absolutely gorgeous because it so much resembles the Type 57S.

The car design looks decent enough, just don't care for that big white tear drop of a paint job. Too distracting.

What the hell? Replying to a thread constitutes trolling? So you just want to be able to speak your mind about the car and not let anyone else speak theirs?

Ummm....no. His post was dismissive and confrontational. Tell me you don't like it, I don't care. Demi already said it was dreadful. That's fine. But it wasn't necessary to go all troll with the ripoff statements.

Especially since he stated the obvious because it is mentioned in the article that is seems no one has read, that it takes inspiration from the Type 57S and the Atlantic concept.

If he agrees with Demi, and that it's dreadful, fine. I think they are wrong but whatever. However, there's no need to state the obvious in such a condescending manner. It just serves to irritate people and incite flame wars. Totally unnecessary and given the fact that his "constructive criticism" was already spelled out in the article, it wasn't really constructive at all. Hence, trolling.

This entire post is funny as hell because you John are the most confrontational, condescending troll on the forum these days. It is YOUR post that started the flame wars as everyone else that read my post saw it as my opinion and nothing more. I thought you being the smartest man on this forum could recognise that... Look in the mirror before you cast stones at others.

If I have $410K to spend for a car (of course, it won't happen in this life time, but if) I would be more inclined to check out brands like lamborghini, and the leftover money would be spend on hookers and strippers....
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I like em all too. But maybe silver would've been the most popular choice for the two tone. I would love to cruise around this town in that Boyd Coddington version!!! People would talk all week about it I'm sure.

There was a Huge All Black(wet look) Tractor trailer parked in front of a Sams' Club for a few days and that sturred up some talk. Crome was minimal but it was where it needed to be. I haven't seen as nice a rig since or before. It was definitely an exspensive custom job! I still don't know who it belonged to.

I love the look of the SLK -55AMG in stock form also.;)
I see one about every 3 to 6 months around here.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
