No need to bring anything unless you have a particular beer or such that you like. We normally have Corona, Bud-Light, Wine, etc, etc stocked.

shiiiiyit. spent last weekend cutting down 3 30' palo verdes on saturday and applying a second coat of rubberized roof coating on my porch on sunday. the clouds had abandoned me and my ego is overly-inflated to the point i feel a "real man" doesn't need sunscreen. looking forward to peeling at your house this weekend, steve-o.

we'll probably try to head out earlier as you stated in the email. that is, if the girl and kids don't fall behind. it'd be better to get back into town before 10-ish to midnight.

    we'll play it by ear.

wes, what time you headin' out there? and rivrrat, you know if you're gonna make it or not yet?

The Sierra Vista range is the only option, it's about 1/2 way to Bisbee.

Hopefully, sometime in the future fellers, Steve & Bev will have some acreage to "play" on....

if it weren't such a pain in the **** setting up speaker spikes perfectly on the srs's, i'd tote mine down to steves just see see if he'd change his mind about the bigguns after experiencing them in his territory.

Been there and done that (LARGE towers; AR9Lsi, Infifnity RS-IIIb's, etc) I've moved on with no regrets. I think you'll be shocked at what you'll hear this weekend---bring some music that you are intimately familiar with...

My rig isn't very "change-out" friendly, as everything is ty-wrapped, routed, etc. I took me about an hour to get my speaker stands leveled, measured, placed equally, and toed-in just right. I need to setup a test rig in the 70's mancave one of these days. Doing Wes' amp will be easy however, as there's plenty of room in the amp spot.

The mini-fest went off without a hitch. Bill's family is a hoot, and some great folks--very nice kids; his son Brandon made me a tiny oragami dragon, it's amazing, and Brian is quite the comedian and Lego master. His wife is about as friendly a gal as you'll meet, and alot of fun to be around. Wes' better half is a sweetheart, hopefully we didn't bore her too much with our audio-geekdom. Her cookies and brownies were a hit, and the perfect finale for a good dinner.

Wes brought his Cary CAD 200 power amp down. Very nice. It has a clean/accurate midrange and upper bass that gives vocals an extrememly real tone. Bass authority and control were also excellent, and treble smooth as buttah. Sara Evans never sounded so good--very, very nice piece of gear.

Thanks to everyone for a great time (we even got a little rain). Hopefully we can pull another event off and get Rob, Sean, and Courtney involved. I think we should trash Wes' place next---right guys? :D

I'll post some pics later today.

wow, we were there for over 12 hours and had fun the entire time! the pool was super-refreshing and Bev puts the "bev" in beverages. the kids had a blast and were telling me on the ride home that if you ever have a get-together of any type, that they DEFINATELY want to go again. they were calling your house a castle. they enjoyed it.

your bookshelf speakers...WOW! like i told you, i would love to hear any other bookshelf in an A/B comparison to demonstrate how much better yours are. good thing "you get what you pay for". and you got it.

once again i found myself thinking i should have taken you up on the offer to stay the night. i had an extremely hard time staying awake. a couple times i had to have Brandon scream into my ear to keep me alert. but the good thing is, no speeding tickets.

i don't mind having you all come here to my place sometime, so long as you can overlook the "mess". my house isn't any "castle" by any stretch of the imagination, but it's big enough to house a buttload of people. then perhaps someone can bring over a dedicated preamp that i could listen to in comparison to my A/V receiver.

Wes and Allison were a blast. i haven't seen Wes smile this much, ever. hope to see you two again soon as well. it should be easy being in the same city and all.

courtney, missed you bro. sean, would've liked to meet you. wish you could have come. rob/rivvrat, same goes to you. hope you got work done because i have to say, you missed out on a great time. hope the extra benjamins were worth it.:)

forgot to mention, we all got to experience the '70's "mancave" while we were there. i could see myself escaping to there on certain occasions for sure. but i'm sure most of my time would be spent on the splendid patio, watching the rainstorms as we did.

    steve, when's the next shin-dig?

yeah, man. and it's our time to reciprocate the favor. if/when you have to venture up here, hit us up ahead of time and let's try to get a little bbq going. winter weather, no prob either. we have the firepit. you'll have to check out the home theater as well. you and bev can kick off your shoes and lounge in the power recliners.

steve, post up some pics here or start a new thread. brandon was pretty excited to see that you loved his baby dragon.;)
