Good catch. We are approaching a "solar maximum" (2013 I believe) and I am curious as what sort of outages we will experience.

Oh, you mean the same "solar maximum" that causes things like planets to heat up from the excess radiation?

Well, we won't know 'cause the world is ending in 2012. Just ask madmax, he's stock piling dried spaghetti and Cambell's Tomato Soup. Gonna make himself some ghetto spaghetti-o's after the apocalypse!

No I support many many many T1's to Cell Towers. I hate what people like about cell phones. I hate cell to cell calls, way to much compressing I can't understand anyone.

This is the speed I am getting on the train, with my phone tethered to my laptop and streaming Sirius simultaneously. I will try again later today see if it is affected.

Sunspot cycles in recent history have been following a roughly 11 year cycle. The cycle has been a little slow to pick up after the recent sunspot minimum. Yeah, maximum sunspot activity can cause all kinds of problems, radio reception, aurora borealis, etc.

Sunspot activity has also been associated with near term climate change. Sunspots haven't always followed the nice 11 year cycle they are now on. As recently as a few hundred years ago, sunspot activity essentially ceased. In a period know as the Maunder Minimum (1645-1715), very few sunspots were observed. This corresponds to a period of time where the "Little Ice Age" was at its coldest.

My Internet service has been sporadic, might be just a coincidence.

Janmike, what's going on in the North country? Any Aurora Borealis?
