These are my most recent Pawn shop purchase and quite possibly my new poison. I got them for 60 bucks great condition except for the simulated wood vinyl was coming off. So I took it all off and painted them with the same paint I used on my subwoofer, came out great, looks much better than the vinyl. Anyway I just got them going and was not expecting what I heard. Huge sound stage for dual 5 1/4" drivers. great bass clean mids and crisp highs, really neutral sounding, highs might be a bit bright but still sound really good. Vocals, instruments, all sounded as they should not like speakers imitating them. I can see why Ultimate electronics still sells these same speakers for 299 each. Good build quality and good components. These are the lower end Def-Tec's makes me wonder what the higher end ones sound like?
I would definitely recommend these, if you can find some(any Def-Tec) reasonably priced give them a try.

I agree if you can find any on the cheap. A couple years ago I found a set of BP-10, BP-2 and a C-1 center at Goodwill for next to nothing. Very good system.>
