    Thank You John

I would go for the bookshelf!. The rear is just for the "phantom" or echo if you will.
    Make it simple...Make it better!

completely untrue... In a 5.1 system, the rear channels carry their own, separate information. If you have the room, your system will benefit from the use of towers in the rear positions, This is how my setup is done and it works brilliantly. If you do not have the space, a bookshelf will get the job done. What I find is that the rear channels have more dramatic impact, clarity and accuracy when I run towers. For this reason my TSi100's are long gone and LSi-15's have taken their place.

What is the rest of your system going to be? If you can you should stick to the same series of speakers & not mix & match.

Above head level when you are seated is recommended.

Johnny make sure you get a receiver with preouts for future amplification upgrades. Because as good as you think they might sound with your receiver, they will sound even better with seperate amplification.

The usual configuration is to have the surrounds up on the wall at about 6ft up & 6-8ft apart.
