Need advice

Have seen some good deals on Polk Monitor 70's lately and some of the CS2. I currently have a Bose Acoustimass 16 which is okay. It does not sound like my dad's Revox system (old school).
I was thinking about the 70's for home theater, 40's for surround, CS2 for center and BIC America F12 or H100 for sub.
Any recommendations? I will need to upgrade the Amp as well - any advice on that would be great! Was looking at Onkyo TX-NR5007 to compliment the setup.
I do not plan on upgrading after this. Is this going to be a pretty solid setup?

Welcome to Club Polk! Sure, that would be one heck of a system. That seems to be a rather beefy AVR, although I don't have personal experience with it. If it were me, I'd shift some of the funds from the AVR budget and add to the subwoofer budget. Good luck!
