Hi,
I'm finally at a stage where I'd like to share some pics with everyone.
Some things you will notice....
I'm into lighting and have different set-ups depending on my mood and what I'm playing. One of the first things you will notice is the LED red rope lighting. This just puts off enough light to be enjoyable. In the back of the room mounted above the door are 6 black lights. The bass traps in the rear corners have a green emitting light mounted on top of them that displays as "stars". Some say they look like bugs running around but pretty freaking cool to say the least. I think so anyhow and thats all that matters.
I built bass traps for all the corners and also built some acoustic panels for the walls. The fabric happens to be curtains that worked out pretty well. They were doubled-sided so I took the backing off and they were suffice to use.
The ceiling tiles that made it look like an office are now painted black. It gives the room a nice effect.
There is still some cosmetic work yet to do. I have spikes coming for the SDAs and the sub. I have absolute black granite pads that I need to pick up for all 3 to sit on. I'm thinking that should look pretty damn sharp if I say so myself. I still need to trim out the door and the baseboards.
Other than that, that is about it. The wires are a mess because I'm still tweaking. When I hung the panels for the first reflection spots, the speakers were moved back. I have since moved them forward and will most likely have to move them a little bit.
That beast of a couch is being removed as soon as I can do it.
All in all, I think I did pretty good with what I had to work with. It might not be best sounding room ever built but I will say it sounds pretty damn sweet to me.
Any suggestions are more than welcome. I know I'm pushing the boundaries with the SDAs as far as setup goes.
Thanks
Brock

Are you running the carver amazings as surrounds?

Are you running the carver amazings as surrounds?
Yea for the time being. Once I get the surrounds fixed on my Plats Mark IVs, they will take their place. Yea, it is a little overkill:D but when the SACDs are playing I wouldn't have it any other way. -

Not a waste when, as he says, the SACD's are playing the music in 5.1 style
Does the Sunfire do the Amazings justice or are you driving them with one of the other amps? (is that a 1.0t?)
A really nice setup. You Carver fans always give me a smile.-Kevin

To be honest, I haven't had the chance to really sit down and give a good listen yet but from what I can tell so far it sounds pretty good.
The couch will be out of there on Monday and I'm looking forward to hearing how the room sounds without such a big piece of furniture in the way. -
very awesome looking room.. what is the center speaker?
It is a Sunfire CRS-3C.
It sounds pretty nice and can take it!!

Way awesome, man. (But wait...where's the headphone jack? )
What kind of music are you listening to? -

Yea for me it isn't a waste especially considering how much I paid for the Amazings! DSOTM really rocks not to mention a few others
I haven't hooked the Sunfire to the Amazings as of yet. The Silver 7Ts are pushing the Amazings. The Sunfire is pushing the front 3. The SDAs are biamped taking 4 channels one for the center.
That is a M4.0t in the bottom right and that is pushing the sub.
I listen to a variety of stuff from country to classic rock to classical and so on.
The couch is gone on Monday so I'm looking forward to hearing the room without such a big piece of furniture in it.
I'm off on Monday so I plan on putting it through it paces with movies. I haven't really watched a movie yet with the sub in place but from what I can tell so far the imaging seems to be good with the SDAs. -
I was up there, I think two weeks ago, and I must say, with that stuff running, it wouldn't have been out of place if he had screamed, "Look upon my works ye might and tremble!"
edit: that being without the sub and the amazings hooked up -

I must say there is a subtle difference with the sub and the Amazings hooked up. I would venture to say it is an up close and personal experience haha
The 2.1 set up is a lot better too with the traps and panels up. Things seem to me alittle more blended and smooth. You'll have to hurry back:) -
