Anyone here into the quality-headphone thing? I just bought a set of Beyerdynamic's, and damn they sound unbelievable. With as much time as I spend on my computer, I don't know why I never forked over the dough for a good set before. I can hear things I never heard in my music before.

Time to go through my collection of music again!

I got a pair of Sennheiser HD-600's and a headphone amp last year. Really can hear a lot more than is coming out of the speakers! It is certainly a pleasure of a different type though.

Nailed a pair of Koss Pro 4AA's on ebay a while back in very good condition. Still my all-time favorite.

actually you can still buy them new . Thats what I did after seeing all these guys on Ebay pricing old ones like they are collector items. They still sound as good as the ones I had in the early 70's and still do a great job of cutting out any background noise..great isolation..and yes they are still like wearing a football helmet

    Bilm,
Was aware of the 4AA's still being around, but was not sure they sounded the same. Bagged my vintage ones for $25.

    Steve,
I own Senn's also, but there's something about the isolation of the 4AA's I prefer... Maybe it's that they eliminate all chances of me hearing my own singing... :D

Sennheiser HD-280 Pro - A very nice sealed (closed back) headphone that alows me to crank it up and not only shut out the rest of the world but they can't hear the music either. Very nice sounding headphone and very comfortable too as they cover the ear and not just sit on the ear.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-600. I love them! Only wish I had more time to listen to them.

I picked them up new on an Ebay auction. Got them for about $280.00 total with shipping.

Hey john d....did you get my last email that I sent to you. Sorry about that...hope I am not derailing your thread. Well while I am thinking about it I have a pair of yamaha that are lightweight and fit very flush to the head, and they sound incredible. If I think about I will edit this and add the model # as I would like to find a second pair of these.

    Cheers,

I have some Senn 570s that I'm content with. Definately not the best, but pretty comfortable and sound decent. I've watched many a late night movie through them and can't complain. I may even try changing the cord. Not to say it needs it, but I'll overkill it just to be certain.
