Ahh yes, the gift that keeps on giving.

Every year about this time I travel to Cherry Valley, NY to visit my father and get away from the sticky south. During the visit I have always had to put up with my ol' man's POS 1979 department store 2 way paper cone / '89sony avr setup. (and that's if he didn't insist on playing me stuff on his computer monitor's built in's)
He's a real music lover just never cared about playback. So for his 60'th I decided to build him a system that I could stand. Picked up everything off CL (I love him but I ain't rich) and gave it to him for his birthday.

His year round system / my vacation rig:

Hafler DH-110
Adcom GFA 5300
Polk Monitor 5jr+ (I keep forgetting how good these little guys sound:D)

The weather can't be beat around here and now it sounds good too!

This got me to thinking........

What do you all do during vacation?
Do you have a rig in the "cabin"?
A mad auto system?
Or do you give the ears a rest too?
Sounds good to me...

ha for vacation I'm normally trying to find any local audio store I can. I live in the "country" so when its vacation for me it normally means going to a city to get away lol.

My vacation rig consists of a 1st generation Zune. :o

And back before I got laid off and actually had some money. Vacation consisted of hitting every pawn shop I could find in that area. Scouring Craigslist for interesting things to meet up with someone in that area when I get there. Can be a great way to find deals on guitars.

I was in Charleston, SC a few weeks ago. It mainly consisted of walking on the beach looking for shells. So yeah...poor and getting old. lol

Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out.
