I'm looking to spend $1000ish on a new set of 5.1 speakers to use with an old Denon AVR-5600. I have been using a set of Klipsch Promedia Ultras with it, but the time has come to replace them. This system will be for movies, music, and games, in a smallish, enclosed (14x14) room.

So far, I have been looking mostly at the TSi line, but any advice would be appreciated. I'm also unsure as far as the subwoofer goes -- I'd be open to changing any of this, as its just a first look.

Front: TSi500
Center: CS20
Surround: TSi200 or OWM3

Thanks for the help!

I'm sure people will come in here and tell you to consider Monitor 70s instead of Tsi500s. They're supposed to be comparable but cost half as much ($200 on J&R with free shipping). You can put those savings into a decent sub. Take a look at the SVS PB10-NSD, Hsu VTF-1, or one of the cheaper Elemental Designs subs for ideas in what I'm guessing is your price range.

If you do get Tsi500s and Tsi200s, I'd love to talk with you about how they sound, since I'm considering Tsi200s for front highs.
    Front/Rear - 4x Tsi500s
    Center - CS20
    Sub - Hsu VTF-3 MK3
    Receiver - Onkyo TX-SR707
    TV - LG 47LH90
Main AV Device - Playstation 3

    ^^^^ +1

Agree with this statement for the budget conscious. Also check out Polk direct to see what Kind of deals they have. A good sub will go a long ways towards a full theater experience. More so than the large towers in my opinion.
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

I would get some used RTi's or RTiA's. A HT built around some RTi8's could easily be had for less than $1000. Pick up a PSW505 and you'll be in good shape. Good luck and welcome to club Polk.

Thanks for the responses -- one thing though, I'm getting these using credit card points, so used isn't an option. As far as surround speakers go, does anyone have any experience with the OWM3s?

Then go with the Monitors or the TSi's. OWM3's will serve you well if space is a concern. Look into in wall speakers too, if you room can facilitate them.
