Bought a Xbox 360 Elite off eBay for $80 not too long ago. 3 or 4 weeks later it has the Red Ring of Death. FML. I bought it for my little brother thinking it'd make me the coolest brother, ever.

I YouTube'd some fixes and came across the towel method. I tried my own variation by throwing it in my car under the sun for an hour. Plugged it in and good as new. Thought maybe some other unfortunate Xbox 360 owners with the RRoD would find this useful.

PS3 > Xbox 360.

Yep, did you ever look up why that method works?
I'd keep a fan on it just because it has a strong possibility of overheating and frying all the components....

I stuck a small Vornado behind it. I never looked at why or how the fix works, but I couldn't care less if it ended up a black plastic puddle of crap on my car's mat.

I went through 3 Xbox 360s about 2 years ago; you'd think they'd found the problem and fixed it by now.
