It's just too bad that there aren't many special effects.

Once again Ron you pull out a killer movie to go check out. If nothing else your a good reason to hang around here.LOL.

The movie looks very well done. I like the dark serious feel to it. The fear of being trapped and alone. Well done(by the looks of the trailer anyway).

Can't wait for this one. NICE!!!

There has never been, nor I bet for a very, very long time to come, a film that defines the word "eye-candy". This film is absolutely amazing, both visually and audibly, it is off the chart. The story works well enough too. I HIGHLY doubt I will see a more enjoyable film this year. I was grinning from ear-to-ear the entire run time, even though the credits. Be sure not to leave right at the first sign of the credits rolling.

We saw it in one of those new XD theaters and it was worth every penny of that extra $3 per ticket.

    SPOILERS ahead

First off, I can understand why this film is tanking at the box office, it's way too heavy and deals with some very serious, real world issues that most do not want to walk out of a theater thinking about. Add to that, there are many layers to this film and it requires some serious thought to try and understand. I just saw it for the second time and I'm not sure I fully understand it yet. This film deals with a lot of sexual abuse by a step-father and by the Blue inside the asylum.

I've almost come to the conclusion that Baby Doll and Sweet Pea are one in the same. Baby Doll in the real world, after all the film begins and ends with her in it (the real world). Then her (Baby Doll) as a side character in the fantasy world and she is Sweet Pea. This way, as Sweet Pea, she escapes her real world issues and torments and actual lobotomizing. The scene in the theater, on stage it is Sweet Pea dressed up as Baby Doll getting a lobotomy.

It may have tanked at the box office because it was too complex or whatever, but those movie critic nerds usually like that and even they don't like this movie.

The point being, I think there's alot more to people not liking this movie than it being too serious or too complex...

I have not seen it, but want to see it as I'm a fan of his work, loved Watchmen. Just based on the reviews I've read, it didn't sound like the issues they had with the movie were related to complexity of seriousness of the plot.

I did not read your second paragraph by the way, didn't want to go in with a pre-conceived idea, what you said in the first paragraph is what I'd expected in this movie.

I'm gonna go see it this weekend

Post your thoughts here. My friends had the basic same thoughts as I, so I'm not alone in my thoughts on the film.

As for reviews...pffft, there useless, I never, ever base my desire to see (or not see) a film based on them. All they are is someone else's opinion, nothing more, worthless to me. If I were to do that, I'd have missed out on a lot of my favorite films.

This one has made it into my top-10 favorite films of all-time.

You'll have better luck with an endless stream of pics of Scantily clad women here.

Now the prop gun just won't do for a 'family' oriented site:rolleyes:

The first time I saw this I wasn't too fond of it at all. I thought, "meh" at best. The second time I watched it I really came to appreciate it for what it is. I'll be buying the blu-ray when it goes on sale.

The producer of this movie must really like the PS3. Every fight sequence seems like it was pulled straight from a particular video game. I see Killzone 2, Call of Duty, Demon's Souls, and FFXIII all fit in there almost perfectly.

    Sub: HSU VTF-2 MK4

Wow, talk about a great looking BD transfer. Music was awesome, great use of surrounds with all the action going on. I was completely surprised with everything going on in the movie. Overall very happy with my purchase and I will definitely watch it again. Thanks for sharing Ron. Your "Sucker Punched" themed theater should look pretty trick.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Yes, the PQ and SQ on this disc it top-shelf stuff. The audio is deep and tight, seriously one of the best sounds tracks I've felt in awhile.

The DC cut of the film is fantastic and adds a bunch to the film. After all, it was supposed to be seen that way until the MPAA stepped in and wouldn't give it a PG13 unless said scenes were removed. Yet, I fail to see how any of those scenes would qualify it for an "R".

Watched the BR over the course of this week. Okay this time. Maybe the 2nd time it will come together now that I know what part is real, and what is imaginary. I also was seeing video games in it.
