Well I finally did it....

I bought a sub for my system I have been putting together. Just purchased an Epik Empire a few minutes ago. The buyers remorse should kick in when my wife gets home from work today.:D

That would be an interesting situation....

Be sure to play the Iron Man blu-ray...the scene where he comes out from the cave in the first Iron Man prototype....set up a camera and post the results on YouTube! :D

Congrats on an awesome sub, I would love to pick up one of those monsters for my HT. Be sure to post some pictures and a review when it arrives. BTW, your wife will love it, everyone here knows that women totally love big expensive speakers . . good luck pal.

it's just a night stand you picked up at a garage sale down the street... haha!

I also just bought a sub, a 12 inch emotiva. So far I really like it, i was stunned at what a difference it made to the sound of my entire system. Now I'm a firm believer that you can't do a HT system without a sub.

Now I just need to figure out how to set the whole thing up. I know I need an rca cable, I can set my receiver to crossover at 80 hertz and can run the setup with my Onkyo receiver. Hopefully it won't take to long to figure out, this is my first sub!

These opposing dual driver designs are inert...no vibration in the cabinet. It's the room that moves.

Check out monoprice for a great RCA. It's where I got mine. Be sure to give your sub a bit of a break in period before you go cranking it up all the way to see if it will rattle your windows.

I put my eD A2-300 next to the couch as an end table and the wife really couldn't complain. Plus having it next to the couch really makes it shake during the heavy LFE sequences.

Here's a link for a nice long RCA cable that will give you plenty of placement options.

And I would also suggest an RCA Y Adapter to plug into the left and right input on the sub for better response on low level LFE signals during softer sequences.

For both it comes in under $10 and its is top notch cabling. Monoprice is the only stuff I use.

Hope you enjoy setting up with the new sub!
    Main Setup

It's here, and it's big. Just my luck, I have Californication from Netflix, not to much bass. Have a buddy coming by with some movies later.

I use Monoprice cable to connect my Cable Box and BluRay player (for digital coaxial audio) to my AVR.
It does a great job. I also am using it for a sub cable. For the money/quality it was a no brainer.

My wife took it in stride. Once I got over my crank the volume phase and actually started playing at normal volumes she started to enjoy it a lot. Last night we were watching Master and Commander and it was great. Plenty of LFE, enough to set off my sons toys in his pack and play.
