ONKYO 876 picture settings

Hi i bought a onkyo 876 over a year ago and recently I tried to adjust the picture settings -brightness ,contrast etc.
Any way when I Adjusted these settings and there was absolutly no difference:mad: I have it connected to my projector with HDMI at 1080p.
My Questions are -What do i set the output to? - SCOURCE,THROUGH etc.
-What about PICTURE ADJUST do I set it to custom?
I can obviously change picture settings on my projector but thought I could also do this on my receiver to get an even better picture but when I tried this there was not even a slight difference
What am I doing wrong?
Also I notice the ONKYO 876 has a BLUE MODE any one know how to use this I would be very thankful for your help.

OK got it working now set it to 1080p out put on the receiver:rolleyes:
