So this December I am planning on taking my GF to NYC for a one night stay or maybe even two night. "Surprise"
She has never been there and I have been there at least 4 times.
I plan on taking her to a Broadway show and or the new york city rockets.
Also take her out to dinner a few different places and if we can go to the statue of liberty.
What are some good hotels around that area to stay at?
What should I budget for other than food and shopping?
Other fun things to do other than walk threw the park and ice skating?
Tips or recommendation please

The Excelsior (sp?) is a very nice hotel. One of the hidden gems of Manhatten and very reasonable.
There's also a cool little place called the 79th Street Boat Basin cafe. It's on the Hudson River side even with 79th St. Great view of the water and fun staff. They'll sell you a six of beer and keep it on ice in pitchers right at your table.
