Computer help please

I use Microsoft Outlook for my emails. Today, I can no longer open simple .jpg attachments...can anyone help me to get this working again?

    i would try doing a system restore to an earlier date when it was working...might be an easy fix.

    Try Tools/Options/Security/Download Pictures button.

    hmmmm. try resetting the nav pane in Outlook. Google it for your version of windows. That may help you.

    Ok, I solved the problem. This is sooooo stupid.....restart the computer...problem solved. I don't get it though, closing and re-opening the application didn't work.

    Thanks for the suggestions guys, it's nice to know that fellow polkies try and come to the rescue whenever possible.

    Is it possible some other program hijacked the .jpg extension? What does it say when you try to open the files? Can you save them to disk?

    EDIT : Glad it was fixed. Yay reboots.

    A friend who is an IT guy once told me that he resolved 90% of people's computer issues with a shutdown and restart. Probably an exaggeration, but... Glad it's working now!

    I always tell people in my office reboot before you troubleshoot. Glad you got it fixed
