Plantar fasciitis --

A couple of years ago i started noticing i had some foot pain in the soles of my feet after periods of driving an hour or more.

In the last few months I've noticed that my feet hurt when i walked after getting up in the morning. A sort of "tightness" as it were.

Also, by the end of the day it felt like my heel was bruised and every time i stepped down on my left foot it felt like i stepping on a bruised heel.

I had put it down to the early onset of old age (over 50), or possibly arthritis or something.

Well I finally mentioned it my wife a few days ago, and my daughter too, both who are nurses, and they told me matter of factly that i probably have Plantar fasciitis.

My wife looked it up on the internet and after reading that it's an inflammatory condition, I've started taking 800 mg of ibuprofen 2 or 3 times a day -- and viola -- no more chronic foot pain. No tenderness on the heel and no tightness of the feet in the morning.

Happy feet.

You should go see a doctor because you could have a bone spur that is causing the inflammation or even an infection. Ibuprofen will help the symptoms but it won't treat the cause.
