Marantz SR7002

What would you recommend for my current HT (see sig.), the Pioneer Elite VSX 23 or the Marantz SR7002? I listen to music 30 percent of the time, movies 70 percent of the time.
The only concern I have for the SR7002 is whether or not it will directly transfer 1080p from my BluRay to my LED. The following review from Sound and Vision has me confused, which states the following:
Sure, it lacks some of the video features that a few competitors promote. But note these two reality checks before you judge: First, 1080p mostly matters when you're sitting 7 feet from a 50-inch screen or viewing high-end front-projection on a really big screen. Second, in the current HDMI era, video scaling is in general not very important for a receiver. If your video source has an HDMI output, it is by definition already scaled as the source-component's designer thought best, probably to at least 1080i. Rescaling it won't always result in meaningful improvement - and might just have the opposite effect. So then, should you really care that the Marantz SR7002 lacks the 1080p and HDMI-scaling sizzle of several recent high-end receivers?

Correct me if Im wrong, but this review is talking about Marantzs inability to upscale 480p content into 1080p content, correct? 1080p content via HDMI would then be 1080p out HDMI, correct? In other words, Im not gonna lose PQ using this receiver with a BluRay and LED, right?

Must have been a late one last night.
In other words, I figured it out after re-reading the article. Um, yea.
Pretty straight forward.
Like I said, it was a late one last night.
Still, any preferences on either of the two receivers?HT: RTi8s, CSi3, RTi4s, HSU ULS-15, Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH, Sunfire Cinema Seven.

I didn't want to vote since I have not heard the Marantz unit, but I have heard the Pioneer and wanted to say I thought it was a fine piece of equipment. Whether it's better for your needs, that's hard for us to say. I think you can't go too far wrong with either choice. If you can, try to demo them side by side and pick whichever you like better.

In case you didn't see my previous thread, Amazon still has the Marantz sr7002 for $599. I have never heard it so I am not actually recommending it. Does get pretty good reviews on Amazon.
A lot of the decision comes down to what you plan to buy and what you plan to do. If you don't watch much SD material, then the lack of upconverting video may not matter. However, my Onk does a nice job upconverting my nonHD cable signal and I would have a hard time giving that up.MAIN: Polk Lsi9s; Polk PSW505; Lsic (in box); Onkyo SR-875; Parasound 2250; Cambridge Audio 740C; LG BD370
