There's a big scam on ebay with Monster wires, people are selling fake Chinese made Monster wires on there, this has been covered before on here last year.

I would buy from Bluejeans cable, they're all certified "High Speed" and UL certified and are part of the official HDMI licensed adopter program.

I would not pay full price for AudioQuest. I would buy from Audiogon....I picked up my rocket 33 which are like $300 cables for about $100, in decent condition....just had to deoxit the connections a little....
I picked up my Alpha snake ICs for about $10 for 25 feet....
I got my Optilink on here for I think it was 35....usually that cable runs about 70....
So, scout around, and buy used if you can.

I realize this post is a month old but since the thread was bumped...the OP was asking about speaker cables, where does HDMI fit in here???

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? (he he get it :o) ??

If the real Monster cables are made in China then they would likely be made in Monster owned or authorized factories--Fake would be made in unauthorized factories and likely not the same end product (whether that's better or worse is not the topic).

Harley Davidson is made in the US. Does that make it OK for a fake Harley manufacturer if they also happen to be in the US? Does that make the fake Harley's the same as the real ones?

I'm not a proponent of China, but China doesn't have just one big giant factory ya know. :p

I suggest avoiding Monster. Quality is OK, but biz practices are dreadful. They are SUE happy over the name Monster.

I recently upgraded to a pair of Signal Cable Ultras from conventional wire. All I can say is WOW.
