They added it a few days ago.

I assume they did that to avoid some of the "low-balling".

Does the seller have to accept the buy it now?

You can choose to not have the buy it now when you sell something.

That could prove a 'useful' feature for a quick strike on a good piece at a fair price. I don't much like haggling and I never Low-ball.

Audiogon is awesome....just wait until it starts to be like eBay. And no....it's not anywhere close to that now but the $2 listing days are long gone for sure.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I think the buy it now is a great feature. All though, it also takes away the chance of you landing that good deal, or offering just a bit higher then the last person.
I'm for it. Have seen a few things on there before that I would have liked to just buy it now, instead of waiting for my "offer"to be accepted....
    Receiver
    Harman Kardon HK 3490
    Speakers
    Polk Audio Monitor 50s
    Subwoofer
    Klipsch KSW-100
    Cables
    AudioQuest Rocket 33s 10ft
    AudioQuest Optilink1 2m
    AudioQuest Alpha-Snake 25ft Interconnect
    AudioQuest HDMI-1 2m

    That offer stuff was lame.

Agreed for the most part, it took forever to find out whether or not the buyer would accept your offer even if it was for the full price or for that matter if it was still for sale. Actually they could like ebay if they wished add a best offer option to the buy it now with of course anyone clicking buy it now actually buying it now.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I just put my DAC that I had for sale on the forum here up on audiogon with the buy it now option. I'll see how it goes and if the person uses it.

$2 listing? Isn't it $4 now? Maybe you meant back when it was $2....

The new BUY option is simply a way for Audiogon to ensure they get their cut; to stop potential buyers from emailing, and then simply conducting the transaction through Paypal.

When you leave feedback they do try to track the dollar amount of the sale, but some just ask that you don't leave feedback any more.
    For Sale 2019:
    Tortuga Audio LDR passive preamp
    Decware EL34 amp
    Allnic H-1201 phono
    Zu Union Cubes
iFi iDSD DAC, .5m UBS, iFI Gemini cable, Oyaide Tunami XLR 1.3M, Oyaide Tunami Speaker wire 1.5M, Beyerdynamic DT1990 headphones, PS Audio P3 power center

I've seen the BIN for items that even have OBO.

The thing that really chaps my **** with many sellers on Audiogon is when the item is actually sold (like in the first 10 hours) they are too lazy to add Sale Pending or Sold. I've been chasing an item for 2 days waiting to get a response from the seller and by accident I found out it was sold. Almost missed another sale waiting the 48 hours because my offer could have been binding if the seller accepted it.
