    Eric's Dynaudio Contour 1.3s (mkII?): incredible range for such a small bookshelf - the bass extension was amazing. Loved the warm soundstage - more focused/frontal than my B&Ws - so that is a matter of preference. Nice tonal balance from top to bottom. And the black cabinets are a perfect match for my setup at home! :D
    Those crafty Danes sure know how to build a good sounding loudspeaker.

    Since I think its past the point Doug can edit his post with the pics(?), here is a quick key:

    Doug = dpowell
    Eric = Huck344
    Erik = Erik Tracy
    Norm = Norm Apter

    Thank you Sir . . . they are all names I recognize to boot!:)

    You guys looked like you had a great time. Besides Polkfest there is nothing better than mini-Polkfests. I have a few myself (one had 10 guys here) and they really were a blast.

    My take?

    A literal wall of sonic sweetness - like being immersed sonically into the music you are listening to.

    Doug popped in the Eagles DVD concert and it felt like I was 'there'.

    I have always wanted to get in front of a pair of these. Thanks for the comment.

    I have always wanted to get in front of a pair of these.

    You'll have an opportunity coming up. I'll be moving to a different house in the next month or so and will be getting the HT and 2-channel rigs set back up. We'll definitely need to have an inaugural Polk get together. Looking at the October timeframe right now (possibly working around when lasareath is in town).

    .....plus, I want another excuse to get other CDP's back in the 2-channel rack (if only for a few hours) so that I can listen vicariously through them until I can afford a replacement for the Denon. :D

    Sounds great, Doug. I'm hoping there is some way we can work the MIT Shotgun S-3 biwire Speaker cables into the mix next time (even if it means an unconventional arrangement for the bookshelf speakers people bring), though of course this would be dictated largely by the configuration of your new listening area(s). There's something fairly pleasing about Shotguns all around.

    I am going to try to arrange the new 2 channel listening area so that the audio rack is centered between the speakers rather than to one side. That will allow for easier swapping of speaker cables. I would definitely like to hear the difference between my MIT Terminator speaker cables and your Shotguns.......wait, no I wouldn't. That would cost me money. :D
